Walsh, McManus, McBride and Wheeler:
Four Irish Families With Minnesota Connections

 
Richard Ambrose Walsh, (son of Thomas Walsh and Margaret Wheeler) married Margaret McManus (daughter of Patrick Henry McManus and Rosanna McBride) In 1884 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Richard was a lawyer and a judge; he and Margaret had thirteen children.

This book covers their descendants and the families of each of their parents: including biographical sketches of family members:


Wheeler Family of St. Paul and Le Sueur County, Minnesota

  • 14 sketches mostly in the St. Paul area


Walsh Family of St. Paul, Minnesota

  • 108 sketches, initially mostly in St. Paul, but later generations spread out, particularly to California.


McBride Family of Iowa, Canada, and Minnesota

  • 158 sketches including from Davenport, Iowa; Ontario, Canada; Rice County, Minnesota, and St. Paul, Minnesota. Many lines in the West. Other surnames include Devine, Hamers, Kelley, LaFever, Meehan, O’Brien, and O’Reilly.


McManus Family of St. Paul, Minnesota

  • 39 sketches; all female lines including Berrisford, McLallan, Roden, Gervais, Kennedy, and O’Neill


Appendices include stories written by Margaret McManus Walsh, newspaper articles, a family Bible, cemetery records and scrapbook items. Hardcover, 485 pages, with color illustrations and place and name indices.
